Cyber Coach Announced As Innovation Award Winner
Cyber Coach, a highly unique, interactive virtual exercise PE coach for schools has been announced as the winner of the inaugural Innovation Award.
The brainchild of Dr Moneeb Awan, President of the Greater Manchester Chamber and PR agency Weber Shandwick the awards were launched to celebrate some of Greater Manchester’s most forward-thinking and dynamic businesses.
Beating off tough competition from over 60 entrants from across the Greater Manchester region, Cyber Coach scooped top prize for its revolutionary system that enables schools to simply and easily deliver a programme of exercise and dance via a life sized virtual instructor, helping them to meet government targets.
The product has taken three years to develop and in that short time it has gone from strength to strength, attracting a number of high profile sporting advocates, including James Cracknell and Zach Purchase.
U-Clock, a unique system for managing remote workforces using a mobile phone was also highly commended by the judges for its technological advancement. In addition, other shortlisted entrants included The Reel and Shaft Handling Company, CSG Lanstar and Myebook.
The judging panel which comprised a number of leading innovative thinkers from across Greater Manchester, including; Dr Moneeb Awan, President of Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Managing Director of eSAY Mobile, Tearmh France, Account Director at Weber Shandwick, Dr Cathy Garner from Manchester: Knowledge Capital and Alasdair Rawsthorne, Professor of Computer Science at The University of Manchester, praised Cyber Coach for its exciting mix of technology and innovation delivered in an interesting, inspiring and exciting way.
Dr Moneeb Awan commented: “The standard of entries was extremely high – the judging panel and I were blown away by the innovative products and practices that continue to flourish across the region.”
Tearmh France continued: “Congratulations to the team at Cyber Coach for their hard work and determination in creating, manufacturing and successfully selling this product. Manchester has long been associated with innovation and from the standard of award entries we reviewed it looks as though this trend is set to continue.”
Cyber Coach was announced as the winner of the Innovation Award at Manchester Airport’s Innovation Summit. As part of the prize package, Cyber Coach will receive digital consultancy from Weber Shandwick worth £5,000, along with a high speed printer, courtesy of leading printer manufacturer Brother UK.
